We Are Still Hustling – Just In A More Meaningful Way

Monday, March 30th, 2020

I am not going to lie, COVID-19 has rocked us all to the core in one way or another. It has affected our day to day lives and how we show up to do what we do. As of March 28, 2019 though, Edmonton Real Estate was classified as an essential service in Alberta which I do feel is a good thing. There are various reasons why people are looking to buy and sell and this also allows us to help them and ensure our current closings get completed as expected. The last thing we would want is for people to not get access to their already purchased Edmonton homes.

While we are still hustling and supporting our clients, we need to stress this does not mean business as usual. We are taking extra care in ensuring our clients are protected, adding additional marketing resources to give buyers more access to homes virtually and ensuring our health and safety too. You can read more about some of our services in this regard here: https://yeg.realestate/safety

I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but check the stock market every day and the same holds true for my real estate investments. It is important to have an understanding of where you are at so that you can make informed decisions in respects to what is right for you and your family. For some buying or selling will make sense now and for others, it won’t and that is okay. The greatest opportunity we can get is to keep you up to date on what is happening so that when the time is right we can be by your side to help you move forward then. Please reach out to us and tell us about how we can support your real estate needs.

We also want to point out that our role is and always will be in an advisor, consultant capacity and are here to help our customers build and manage their wealth through Edmonton real estate. We are doing our best to connect and engage with all our clients to see how they are doing and to see how we can support them at this time (relationships first and foremost). Whether you need help getting something like a few groceries to yourself, need someone to connect/talk with or want to stay informed of the Edmonton Real Estate market, we are 100% here for you. We want to help make a positive difference in your lives and our community.

Please let us know how we can support you during this trying time!

Are You Fit To View: Things To Consider When Viewing Edmonton Homes

Wednesday, March 18th, 2020

There are many ways Edmonton Home Buyers can view properties right now. We wanted to highlight a few ways we can continue to offer this service:

When you find the Edmonton Homes you would like to learn more about, consider your options for viewing:

  • Did you know we can offer tours via Facetime or Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger
  • Or we could look at recording/sending you a video tour
  • We are open to discussing booking an in-person viewing to qualified buyers who are fit to view.

Of course, we encourage all prospective buyers to review information on Alberta Health Services to make an informed decision about what is best for them and their families.

We are STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS – We just need to navigate the waters a little differently and change up how we can service our customers. Our Edmonton Real Estate team is here to be a resource to you, whether you need help getting something dropped off to your house, a person to talk to, or advice or assistance in navigating the home buying and selling process.

Selling Your Edmonton Home & Viewings In Respect To COVID-19

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Last night, we sent emails out to all our sellers, providing some guidance regarding procedures to take if allowing showings at this time. Of course, we are also focused on discussing the right option for you at this time as ultimately it will be different for everyone. Here are a few tips we advised when it comes to proceeding with in-person showings:

  • We have created a sign you can post on your door, reminding visitors of actions you would like them to take when they enter your home. Download here
  • We recommend keeping hand sanitizers near your front door, for buyer usage. (Note: almost all REALTORS® are carrying their own for their clients to use prior to viewing the homes). Let us know if you would like our assistance in getting some to your home.
  • We recommend turning on all lights and opening all interior doors for easier accessibility for the buyers and buyers agent. (reduce touching any surfaces)
  • If there is a need to pause showings (due to recent travel, personal symptoms or known health concerns) do let us know so we can devise the right plan for you.
  • We recommend keeping up with disinfecting all surfaces in your home, especially after a showing.
Please remember that we and our colleagues are taking as many proactive measurements we can to ensure that we can perform our jobs for you while ensuring your home and you are taken care of to the best of our abilities.

We are here to answer any questions you have about this and to discuss personalized plans to best support you. We understand that maintaining showings may not be desirable to all clients and we fully support and want to talk to you about the right options for you.
At the end of the day, the most important thing to remember is that we are 100% here to support you and the decisions that are best for you and your families.
If you have further questions regarding your health, we encourage to please seek guidance from Alberta Health Services.
Stay tuned for more information.

The Coronavirus, The Edmonton Real Estate Market & Building Our Futures

Sunday, March 15th, 2020

We understand that are a lot of fears about what is happening in the world when it relates to this coronavirus and how to proceed. We don’t know how long this will last and how many people will be affected either physically, mentally or financially, however, we can speak about what we do know:

  • You, Will, Want To Get Your Basics In Order: Make sure to stock up on any essentials that you feel would be necessary if you are required to stay at home for a certain period of time.
  • You, Will, Want To Think About What Is Needed For Your Family: Plan for contingency plans for childcare, work and family health needs.
  • You, Will, Want To Plan For The Future: We will get past this and we need to plan ahead.
    • Look At Ways You Can Save (Reduce Spending): Take a look at your current budget and see what you can live without. Perhaps 3 television apps aren’t really essential right now for example? Every dollar you can save now, your future self will thank you for.
    • Take Precautions, But Move Forward: Your work, your life and your dreams are still very much important. Think creatively about how you can make a positive impact on these while ensuring you are mindful of your health. The first step is the basics: Wash your hands, wipe down surfaces and really don’t touch your face until you have washed your hands. Ultimately, it comes down to if you are feeling sick, rest and take care of yourself. The reality is that whether this virus was here or not, there are always vulnerable people, including the elderly and pregnant women that can not afford to be around people who might pass on a cold or virus. We can all do our part by being mindful of the social situations we choose to engage in.
    • Take Action For The Future: FYI, I am not talking about stocking up and selling essentials at unfair rates here, What I am talking about though is being aware of the opportunities that are out there and how taking action today will ultimately lead to impacting you and your family in a positive way for the future.

What We See Happening In The Edmonton Real Estate Market Right Now?

1.  Now Is Still A Great Time To Buy: If you were thinking about buying a home this year or in the near future, now is still a great time to invest in the Edmonton Real Estate market. 2. It Is Still A Good Time To Sell: We are continuing to add new inventory to the yeg market. 3. If Your Happy Where You Are – Refinancing Could Be The Right Move For You: The Bank of Canada has announced an emergency rate cut of 50 bps. If your mortgage is coming up for renewal soon, staying on top of rate changes and taking advantage of them will help you pay down your mortgage faster. This is good news for you and your family.  We know amazing representatives at all major banks and have fantastic relationships with independent mortgage brokers as well.
